What do you get the client who has everything? We like to give a gift that warms hearts. We wanna make them proud to work with us VS just another paperweight or box of chocolates to pass around the break room (tho we do love our sweets).
We’re storytellers, makers, and community citizens – so obvy we want to give something interactive and surprising that gives back.
For the last two years we’ve been raising our Cup of Cheer – a tasty treat of time and talent to some of our most caring organizations. We ask our clients and partners to vote for one of six community groups who are already doing good, in hopes of helping them do better.
A gift worth giving
Our Dc Cup of Cheer has been so rewarding! For our first year, we helped Sarah’s Kids create a Christmas Card Campaign that saw funds help out young people diagnosed with cancer. The big C is clearly a worthy and top-of-mind cause, as last year’s Cup of Cheer recipient was Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC).
We’d already been working with YACC for a couple of years on the Shave for the Brave campaign, but this was an opportunity to do something bigger.
YACC’s mission is to support young adults as they move through and beyond cancer. To be the connection to peers, a bridge out of isolation, and a source of inspiration. We’ve been working on a Communications Plan in collaboration with the organization and we’re well into our commitment to help them drive the organization forward.
This year, we’re doing the same big give to one of these six charities:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of St. John’s
- Home Again Furniture Bank
- Senior’s Resource Centre
- Safety NL
- Canadian Hard of Hearing Association – NL
- Parkinson Society of NL
We’re also upping the ante this year, asking our clients to get creative – more details will be included with the tangible gift we’ll send in the coming days, but let’s just say you’ll have to break out those baking pans and piping bags to nominate a second charity of your choice to receive a marketing package free of charge. So fun.
Don’t mind if we do
We’ll announce the winner of our Third Annual Cup of Cheer the day before we take a little break to reset for the exciting year ahead, but throughout the holiday season, we’ll be posting our clients’ nominations and we’ll announce our second winner in January!
Finally, huge holiday love to our clients and our team who make every day happen. To our many partners, associations, friends and families who we count on throughout the year: We hope that we’re able to give back as much as we get – which is a whole lot of awesome.
Looking forward to 2017!
