What a tyyyyme I’ve had over the last month! If you’ve been tuning in to Out of the Fog, you’ve seen it all! The music. The movie makers. The St. John’s movers and shakers. And if you haven’t, lemmie tell you about it.
This month saw big names in the St. John’s film scene, like Jenn Brown from the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival and Roger Maunder from Up Sky Down Films, founder of the Nickel Film Festival. These two and their organizations are doing wicked work in the province, showcasing our people’s knack for storytelling and the resiliency and profitability of this industry.
Keepin’ with this trend of bringing biz and arts together, we had our A1C neighbour Bryhanna Greenough from Business & Arts NL; Dave Lane, our favourite civic son (hello!) and lead hand in a special project with Common Ground; Andrew Boyd of both Waterfront Fire fame and now, for his media mag, Rock Eden; and VOCM’s own Paddy Daly, who talked about his own history with Out of the Fog!
Music and friends
And speaking of music … we had Chris Kirby, Janet Cull and Mike Hanrahan, Dana Parsons and Wade Tarling, and Rough Hands all rock the Masonic this month. Talk about “instrumental connections.” A big shout out to these deadly musical guests.
Don’t forget to tune in every Thursday on Channel 9 for new episodes! BTW: We’re always down to have people swing by the Masonic Theatre to sit in on a taping of the show. If you wanna check it out, drop me a line: Dc@dcdesignhouse.ca
