Who are you? How’d you get here?

I’m Donnie / Donny / Don-E / Donald Coady (Dc). I am aware of the ironic over-branding. I got here as a result of a lifetime as an illustrator and writer, turned graphic artist and web developer. From class to student council president roles at two campuses over four years, as well as ACE membership (now Enactus), I caught those leadership feels. Nowadays, creating and leading — at work and in various volunteer capacities — is life. I like it here.

What’s your role at Dc? What are your technical abilities?

I’m the Creative Director. I obsess over every production we take on — big or small, I love it all. The service aspects, the relationships. Technically, I’m a writer and a graphic artist.

What’s your passion?

The ideas. Big ones … with legs. That’s my jam. And volunteering. And music. And having a time.

What’s your “why”?

My clients are brave. They run small businesses. They power not-for-profits. Using our talents for branding, content creation, and campaigns, we help them to brand better, because they are the ones who make our city and province a better place to live and work.

Who are you? How’d you get here?

In the beginning, I was a snot nosed kid who drew and took photos. I was lucky enough that an art teacher helped foster my love of these things and gave me some good advice. That led to some sign making jobs, and more drawing and photography, and making connections. Once I found design in college, I was hooked. A keener, I got hired out of school by some old school marketing guys who really shaped my design/marketing path. A lot of hard work and perseverance later, I landed at Dc. My management style has been shaped from the experiences that brought me here.

What’s your role at Dc? What are your technical abilities?

My role is Studio Manager. I come from a 15 year background of design, art direction, and some creative direction. I’m also a professional photographer, with some illustration skills and a strong love of great typography.

Typography, photography, art direction, and my team, the WHOLE team. I like to see a happy, healthy group churning out amazing work for great clients. If I contribute to making that happen, I go home with a smile on my face.

What’s your “why”?

I do what I do because I enjoy the process of making. I enjoy the little moments of passion and inspiration.

Who are you? How’d you get here?

I go by many names — Katrina Rose O’Keefe, Auntie Treene, Kat, Mommy, Sister, Friend, and Lover of a Laugh! I’m a proud Southern Shore girl, hailing from Ferryland (all it takes is hearing me say “Furrylynd” once, you’ll know it’s true!). After a few years of soul-searching followed by some life-changing educational experiences, I spent time in media and technology sales where I met some people who have been extremely influential in my life. They showed me the value of truly caring for a customer’s needs and building relationships the right way. A subsequent stint in entrepreneurial programming here in our beautiful city cemented my passion for this vibrant community and my capacity for positive influence. I came to Dc on “the scenic route,” through a combination of fate and circumstance — it’s been obvious since Day One that it was the perfect place for me to land!

I’m a Project Manager here at DcDH. I keep projects and initiatives moving forward and ensure that our creative and collaborative team feels connected to our amazing clients on the daily. I’m very lucky to be in a position to speak to our clients regularly and see their faces when our team’s collaborative efforts make them smile! My educational background is in Marketing and I have been working in sales and event/account management for 10+ years in various industries, including oil and gas, IT, media and non-profit. I have a keen eye for positive change opportunities and love to dig deeper and think broader.

What’s your passion?

My passion is first and foremost for my family and friends, of which there are many — typical Irish blessing! I am the proud Mamma of two beautiful, strong-willed, happy children who make my life worth living (and my wine worth drinking!). I love to sing, eat, chat…generally, I’m into being merry. I came into this world with a passion for people and making them smile — from 5-year-old me singing songs from the Little Mermaid for my Aunts to 30-year-old-me pulling a smile from a friend who really needs one, I’ve always been about trying to making the world a happier place. I am a doer and a problem solver who just loves to be loved.

What’s your “why”?

My why has always been about helping people and businesses connect with the products and services that make their lives better.
