Who are you? How’d you get here?

I’m Donnie / Donny / Don-E / Donald Coady (Dc). I am aware of the ironic over-branding. I got here as a result of a lifetime as an illustrator and writer, turned graphic artist and web developer. From class to student council president roles at two campuses over four years, as well as ACE membership (now Enactus), I caught those leadership feels. Nowadays, creating and leading — at work and in various volunteer capacities — is life. I like it here.

What’s your role at Dc? What are your technical abilities?

I’m the Creative Director. I obsess over every production we take on — big or small, I love it all. The service aspects, the relationships. Technically, I’m a writer and a graphic artist.

What’s your passion?

The ideas. Big ones … with legs. That’s my jam. And volunteering. And music. And having a time.

What’s your “why”?

My clients are brave. They run small businesses. They power not-for-profits. Using our talents for branding, content creation, and campaigns, we help them to brand better, because they are the ones who make our city and province a better place to live and work.

Who are you? How’d you get here?

In the beginning, I was a snot nosed kid who drew and took photos. I was lucky enough that an art teacher helped foster my love of these things and gave me some good advice. That led to some sign making jobs, and more drawing and photography, and making connections. Once I found design in college, I was hooked. A keener, I got hired out of school by some old school marketing guys who really shaped my design/marketing path. A lot of hard work and perseverance later, I landed at Dc. My management style has been shaped from the experiences that brought me here.

What’s your role at Dc? What are your technical abilities?

My role is Studio Manager. I come from a 15 year background of design, art direction, and some creative direction. I’m also a professional photographer, with some illustration skills and a strong love of great typography.

What’s your passion?

Typography, photography, art direction, and my team, the WHOLE team. I like to see a happy, healthy group churning out amazing work for great clients. If I contribute to making that happen, I go home with a smile on my face.

What’s your “why”?

I do what I do because I enjoy the process of making. I enjoy the little moments of passion and inspiration.

Erin Molloy

Who are you? How’d you get here?

I am Erin Molloy. I got here by way of many places, having moved 20+ (or maybe even 30) times in my life, from down the street to across the country. After studying English at Memorial University, then moving on to Mount Saint Vincent University to complete a Bachelor of Public Relations, I began my communications career at a high profile hospital in Toronto. This role kicked my career into high gear, giving me extensive responsibility and experience in communications counsel; crisis communications planning; media relations at the local, provincial and national level; event planning; government relations; branding; and the strategy behind it all — the piece closest to my soul. A soul that must have belonged at home in St. John’s, so I left the big city on the bittersweetest of notes to find out.

Since returning back home in 2008, I have worked in industries such as government, non-profit, oil and gas, construction, and financial.

What’s your role at Dc? What are your technical abilities?

Now at Dc, as Senior Project Manager, I manage a large, diverse clientbase, representing industries from arts and tourism, to retail and health. I love a good deadline and coming in on (or under!) budget. I also add my expertise to any project that needs a little PR love.

What’s your passion?

Creating meaningful relationships and learning about the incredible work that is happening in our province is what gets me up in the morning. That, and being a new parent along with my husband, Chris, to our beautiful daughter, Joni, who has taught me the true meaning of love and responsibility.

What’s your “why”?

I am motivated by diversity in my day-to-day work. Learning from, working with, and helping strengthen my clients gives me this. I learn so much from them when it comes to leadership, entrepreneurship, and visioning.

Random Fact

When I am not working, volunteering, spending time with family and friends, or traveling, I am learning from my heroes: the celebrity chefs of the Food Network. If I could meet anyone on earth, it would be Gordon Ramsay. Bobby Flay is a close second.

I’m a Project Coordinator, but what I do on a daily basis goes far beyond coordinating projects. Strategic writing is what I’m happily immersed in, as the lead creator of our communications and marketing plans.
